My personal view about the horscopes and why it is such a big industry

February 5, 2007

I think many people in this country are totally fascinated by spiritual acts like horoscopes, psychics, astrology, star signs and tarot. This is despite the continually advancing technologies in different hi-tech fields that have gradually moved human civilization to even greater heights. Why is that so? Why are humans seems to place more trust in concepts that are already millennia old?

From what I have understood in my own study into these subjects, it could come down to one thing. Modern technologies are not able to predict what the future may be like but concepts like horoscopes, astrology, birth signs, star signs and psychic ability are able to fill our empty inner voids with some concrete images what our lives may be like in the future.

Celestial stars can reveal to us an infinite amount of wisdom and guidance and certain experiences and unexplainable events in my lifetime have convinced me this must be true. Millions of us regularly read our horoscopes to see what may be in store for us in the coming days, weeks or months. As such I admit I check out my horoscope often from magazines or TV programs with the hope of getting some good news as comfort. You know, humans are fragile creatures and they really need a lot of comfort and assurance to achieve inner peace and this is despite my own positive views about matters.

In actual fact, our nation has been rather intrigued by the whole spiritual phenomena and it has become a massive industry especially in the field of horoscope. I know of some people who refer to detailed horoscope readings when they are preparing to go into a long relationship to learn about star sign compatibility. This reassures them in some way that this relationship might work just fine because Mr Right has a compatible birth sign to theirs. They will go on to read up on everything to do with his birth sign including his faults, his good points, his character, even his long term health probability! And they are not in the small numbers!

Couldn’t agree more. Im from India and astrology is big time here. The fact is our ancients managed to ‘see’ distant planets without any technological instruments whatsoever! How did they do that? Astrology is a science thats thousands of years old. It’s obviously a different realm we are talking about, where the people were much much more evolved than we would ever know. It’s nice to connect with like-minded individuals. Maybe you wud like to visit my blog: it talks about energy and the role it plays in our life. Cheers.

Thanks for your comment Sridhar. I have visited your blog and it is full of great information and am glad to have a chance to learn something from you.

  3. Astrology is the ancient practice and study of the stars and planets. Its history goes back to Babylonian times. Astrology is not the same as astronomy. Astronomy studies only the science of the planets, stars and universe.Know your astrology by visiting my blog…
